Back in 81 I went on a 7 day cruise on the Festival and have a question.I vaugly remember that the swimming pool had windows on the side so people could look into the gym(I think) while swimming.I havent seen anything like that before or since, any other ships have windows in the pools? Thanks docfl
Are you sure that was the FESTIVALE?? I don't recall the ship having that feature. Then again, I was not too interested in the gym at the time and probably never went so I might have never noticed it. Was it in the smaller aft pool, or the main pool a deck higher with the slide? I think it would have had to be the smaller pool as I think the gym was below it.
There are several ships with windows looking into the pool. The NORWAY was probably one of the first, and the pool windows were located in the disco for one pool, and a special walk-around for the other.
Some other ships with pool windows that come to mind are:A'ROSA BLUREGAL PRINCESSROYAL CLIPPER
I'm sure there are others but I can't think of them off hand.

Norway fans will know that the windows to the pool are still in the disco, but painted over, or boarded up? You can still see there outline.
If you had discoed during the day (unlikely) you would have been able to see the swimmer legs, at least, in windows behind the small dance floor.

You beat me too it! The windows were on the Promenade Deck. Oh those great memories . That ship I certainly will miss.
