Hey everyone...I'm on the QM2 now. Have been on board since New Years Eve. I'll give a full report when I return home but I wanted to let everyone know that she is absolutely beautiful. Pictures do not do her justice. Here's a quick breakdown of her so far...

-Wonderful Shows...best I've seen with singers and constumes worthy of West End and Broadway

-Wonderful orchestras

-Service is getting better...should be up to par by Maiden Voyage. Same with the food.

- Todd English is wonderful, and I hear Lotus is too

-Cabins are nice with lots of drawer space. Balcony cabins have rubber "teak-look" decking with wonderful teak deck chairs.

-Illuminations is incredible. Have heard the shows in there are impressive.

-Queens Room is favorite of many. Very high ceilings, magnificent color scheme, huge dance floor. This is where New Years Eve was held.

- Britannia Restaurant is pretty but not overpowering. I still think many other ships have much prettier dining rooms. Queens Grill is very pretty in person and Princess is identical to the Queens Grill.

- Commodore Lounge at the front of the ship is a favorite at night...very much like a gentlemen's club.

- Canyon Ranch Spa...wonderful treatments...gigantic. Needs some work.

-Cabin hallways are straight and hypnotically long without any artwork on levels that don't include suites.

- The ship lacks live flowers and there is not an abundance of fake ones. The Winter Garden only has fake foliage but a beautiful waterfall.

- The ship also lacks an abundance of artwork. However, she has several huge bronzes and tapestries that are gorgeous. Also, the maritime picutres of Cunard Ships, as well as the Maritime Quest heritage trail are wonderful.

Overall, the ship is truly magnificent and a worth successor of QM. She has a soul already that you can feel and I truly believe that she will be loved by many.

I'll be happy to answer questions when I return

Sokker14, I think you are the first Cruise Talker on the QM2 cruises! Nice yo know you are having a great time. Do you think the ship needs to be finished still becuase I don't quite get what you mean by "needs some work" regarding the Canyon Ranch Spa.

Thanks for the live report! I think are are truly the first person on the many cruise boards to give a sort of "mini-review" of the ship. It's very appreciated.

We are all looking forward to hearing more.

Sokker14, thanks for the breif report. Here are a few simple questions:

Does the QM2 feel much different from other new builds?

Does she feel like the biggest ship once you are onboard?

I'm curious as to the answer to that one as well. Especially if you have also sailed on a Voyager Class ship. Those ships *do* feel very large and impressive.

What it feels like to actually be on the largest ocean liner in the world...how incredible it must be. Does she 'feel' like the biggest ship once you are onboard? What will it feel like to actually walk the wrap-around teak promenade with the ocean wind blowing in your face?

As I look at the deck plans of the QM2 and comparing it to that of the Voyager of the Seas-class, I would imagine that the QM2 would not 'feel' as large, on the inside.

Which of these two ships have more square footage of non-dining venue areas to go to and watch shows, be entertained, or just plain hang out and people watch? Which of these two ships has more usable open upper deck space? With the Voyager's massive interior spaces such as the four deck high 400 foot long Royal Promenade, three deck high cavernous dining room, 9 deck high atriums, and her open and exposed upper deck spaces she has to feel larger.

With the QM2's sheltered upper decks and lack of huge public areas I would think it would make her feel more intimate and under-whelming, yet with a timley elegance, stylish sophistication, and grace the Voyager terribly lacks.

And I prefer that.

22 days and counting...:-)
