I found this picture on NOAA's web site and I am trying to figure this out. It looks like a ACCL ship. It also looks like it ran-aground of hit rocks. Can anyone else figure this out. I had never heard of this before.

Looks computer-generated to me. Don't bother checking Lloyds Register!

Yep, it is Clipper Odyssey...153 people were forced to abandon ship. Luckily, no one was injured. This took place in Alaska when they ran aground.

It is the Wilderness Adventurer, aground in 1999

Cruise ship grounds, all safely evacuated
Coast Guard helicopter, cutter crews respond

JUNEAU, Alaska –Coast Guard rescue crews and marine safety personnel are responding to a cruise ship grounding near Icy Strait that forced the evacuation of 80 people after 2:30 p.m. today.

The ship, the 157-foot Wilderness Adventurer, struck rocks and grounded at 2:25 p.m., in Dundas Bay, north of Icy Strait and southeast of Glacier Bay National Park.

No injuries are reported in the incident, but the 56 passengers and 24 crewmembers evacuated to the nearby town of Gustavus aboard the motor vessel Auke Nu.

Crewmembers aboard a U.S. National Park Service aircraft reported seeing fuel sheen near the Wilderness Adventurer.

The captain aboard the Wilderness Adventurer told Coast Guard officials here that the ship’s hull is cracked and that the vessel is taking on water.

The Coast Guard helicopter crew from Air Station Sitka lowered four immersible pumps to the ship to remove incoming seawater and prevent flooding. Two of the pumps are now in use aboard the unoccupied ship.

Coast Guard marine safety investigators from the Marine Safety Office (MSO) in Juneau are responding with hundreds of feet of absorbent boom to contain any fuel spillage that could occur.

The Auke Bay-based 110-foot cutter Liberty will steam to the grounded vessel tonight and establish a command post with MSO investigators.

The Wilderness Adventurer is owned and operated by Glacier Bay Tours of Juneau.

... so then what happened? How did they get the ship ungrounded? Was there serious damage? Any pictures of the operation? Who was deemed at fault for the mishap?

Just curious about this surprising event that I completely missed back in '99.
