I just checked out CNN's site along with some others and see nothing about this. It would be all over the news if this was true.

It's probably just a rumor that started as a result of this. Different ship but that doesn't seem to matter for most folks.

And if offered a free cruise you would kiss Richard Fain's butt and cut through the crowd trying to get on board.

I for one would like to see the Carnival Victory and Voyager of the Seas engage in a duel to the death. That would be a site to see -- would the brutish mass of the VotS crush the Victory like a grape? Or would the the superior maneuverability of the smaller ship be used to gain the upper hand and strike the VotS where it is weakest? To the victor go the spoils ... and to the loser, a watery grave.

Now THAT would be cool.

Kind of like that game of "telephone" If you tell someone you somehow dropped a hard boiled egg on the lido deck, by the time word got around to 10 people, the story would be so twisted as to say the ship has been sunk.

No the ship did not sink That is rediculous. There is a "small" Gash above the water line. That is it. End of story. There is---no---more.

also, some of the above posters have some twisted ideas of mega ships sinking? I don't think that funny at all. Carnival is a mega American Company. They are terrific for the US economy. Why would anyone in their right minds want to destroy this?

I detest Royal Caribbean, why is anyone surprised I would say I would enjoy seeing one of their ships go to hell? And why do people take it so seriously?

I wouldn't like to see ships sinking, and companies go bankrupt, but i would like a bit more adventure in design and routes, and pricing
