Hi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My name is CRUISE LOVER and I am new to the site. I am happy to be hear and hope to make friends with everyone.
I have been a Cruise fan and Ocean Liner fan for a long time. If I could I would go cruising all the time.
I have been on 1 cruise in my time on "Carnival Cruise Lines PARADISE on a 4 day Baja Mexico Cruise 2/21/05 and I had a blast!!!

I am taking another 3 night Baja Mexico Cruise, this time on "ROYAL CARIBBEANS MONARCH OF THE SEAS" for 1/6/06. I am sure to have just as much as a BLAST as on the PARADISE.

I have seen many pictures of the ship and read some reviews, and now I want to know about people from this site who have taken a cruise on this ship. I want your full honest review.
Wheres the best place to be on the ship? How cool is it to be in the Viking Crown Lounge and see a great view of the Ocean? Whats the funnest thing to do aboard? Is the sushie bar a real sushie bar?

Thank You for reading my review!!! I hope you can give me a review as to your own experiance on the ship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Surprisingly, I have found that the Viking Crown Lounge is not used very much. It might be because passengers don't know how to get up there? I don't know the reason... cause it is a decent & commanding view of the ship and the sea. I enjoy sitting up there. Great place to eat is the Windjammer cafe with forward views above the Bridge...I love those tables by the windows. The ship is very nice and well maintained. Handles the sea very well too.

i think that is because there is a one elevator that services the Viking Crown and it is seperate from the other elevators that are together.....so pple find it hard to find that particular elevator....hence they cant get to the Viking Crown......i think that is why...

P.S- welcome aboard Cruise Lover.......u'll have a great time here on Cruise Talk....trust me

WOW!!! Thanks for the vary warm welcome. You all sure answer fast. I know Im gona to like it hear.

Thanks for all the valuable information. I will look for that elevator for the Viking Crown Lounge.

Is there any other quiet place on the ship? For I am an Ocean Linery type a-guy. And do you know if the "Jade Sushie" is a real sushie bar? You see on the PARADISE we were expecting a real sushie bar. But alas . . . it is nothing but a cheap little stand. And what is "Guest Relations" on deck 3?

Just out of curiosity. Was your cruise(s) one of the 3 or 4 night/days Im taking? or was it a Caribbean Cruise the ship did so long ago? I have seen Ensenada so I know what it is like (vary sad ). I just want to know if you took the 3 or 4 night, and what it is like when you depart from San Pedro (aka. Los Angeles)? Where were you when departing? What stateroom did you get? I heard the staterooms are very small, but hey, do I really know?

I hope you can answer those questions I hope Im not annoying you with all of these questions. Im just curious !!!

Welcome onboard Cruise Lover! The MONARCH OF THE SEAS is a great ship! "Guest Relations" is basically the customer service/reception desk. I haven't seen any pictures of the Jade sushi bar, but definately not like the one PARADISE since the sushi bar is located inside the Jade Restaurant.

Yes, the staterooms on the MONARCH are fairly small, but they are adequet for 3 and 4 nights cruises. You shouldn't spend too much time in your room when there is so much other activities to watch and do on the ship .

Monarch of the Seas is a fine ship, unfortunately, running a short duration route you will see a lot of the ferry boat crowd. Many people on that ship are very awkward in proper cruise ship behavior. Lots of eyebrow raising in the dining room when the hillbillies and rednecks enter. Some of the women look like truck stop hookers and the men dress like the roto-rooter man (plumbers). The sushi bar was awful. It was premade and served on airline type plastic trays instead of stoneware. Serving sushi on plastic is like laying on the ground eating meat off a stick at a fire. The sushi chef was made the chef only because he was Asian. However the Windjammer had an excellent Asian section that had both bland “Chinese food for white people” and the real stuff. The ships captain looked like the German actor Jorgen Procnow who played the German U-boat captain in the movie Das Boot.
