Anyone see any new photos of the MSC Musica lately? With a third sister on the way, I want to see how this first in class is shaping up.

As of February 6th, 2006...

Yard drawing:

Here is the link to the website with the pictures. Link. If you scroll down towards the bottom, you will see an index of pictures taken of the MSC MUSICA and ORCHESTRA.

On that site, there are also other interesting pictures of other ships that was "born" in Chantiers.

Are we sure that the ships Rick Sasso announced at Seatrade this week are going to be the same design as Musica/Orchestra? I know they'll be about the same size (Panamax), but beyond that, what do we know?

MSC Musica to Become an Album
Mar 14 - The first of the class has yet to be delivered and MSC has already decided they need at least one more. MSC Cruises announced today a firm order from Chantiers de l'Atlantique for another vessel in the Musica-class.
The 89,600-ton ship is scheduled for delivery in March 2008 and will be a sister to MSC Musica (delivery in June) and MSC Orchestra (delivery in April 2007). The company also took an option on a fourth in the class.

I've been attending SeaTrade in Miami Beach this week, and this morning I spoke with the P.R. Manager from Alstom/Chantiers. He told me that the recently announced ships (one on order, with an option for another) would be in the same class, and identical to the MUSICA. We were standing next to a huge model of the MUSICA and he even pointed out all of her features, saying this new announcement was just more of the same, and definitely not anything to do with the two larger ships previously announced.

Truthfully, all of this generation of ships is becoming a blur of similarities; the MUSICA seems to be simply a larger version of OPERA/LIRICA. I love to inspect the shipyards' models of their vessels, but frankly I cannot remember any specific, unique things on this one!
