Hi everyone, I'm back from my cruise on Arcadia, and will post a review as soon as I get sorted.
I must say there were a lot more positives than negatives, and I really became fond of Arcadia, even if she isn't Aurora/Oriana and a sort of "off the peg" design.

Anyhow, we got a sort of good view from the ship...

Here are a couple taken from Hythe marina when she passed this evening...

(I've reduced the size of the photos so they will download quicker.)
When we were on Arcadia she looked really big, but next to Freedom of the Seas, she looks tiny!!
Patsy/Gaz, glad you got to see her arrive!
Better go, will post more later,
Andrew

Sailing off tonight. Now Monday. No idea why. But she's going up to the turning circle according to VTS for the fireworks at 10pm then returning to the berth. Monday she still sails they say so I'll be going down for that and hope it's not ruddy raining!

Fab close-up there, Andrew. I was saying to my dad I bet you were out on deck. I'll get scanning my arrival pics tomorrow you Arcadia heading towards the turning circle, round and docking will be uploaded. You got similar ones to me of Arcadia sailing. LOL! Disappointing though Freezer never replied to her.

I thought that too! (Miserable buggers!)

Whereabouts were you on the Marina? I was on the western side, then crossed the lock and went out the normal side.

Seems strange that FOTS isn't sailing now, a friend of mine's nephew was due to sail on the shakedown tomorrow.
Perhaps they are just doing it whilst alongside.

Good to see lots of people out and about to see it.

Andrew

Glad you had an enjoyable cruise Andrew. Scottylass sailed off on her today.

Your last photos really shows FOTS size. Goodness.. it will a heck of a trek from one end to the other. For people not 100% on their feet Arcadia is a stretch. But she looks nice for a monster, no green gills [unless you count the hot tubs over the edge]

Pam

Eastern. You know when you come round past the anchor and walk along a bit, there's steps between a couple of benches from the car park. I was on the front there. That's our spot and I'll kill anyone who pinches it. LOL! Was sat there 3 hours this morning too but at least it was warmer until Freezer passed than this evening. Got there too late for you to pass us but Artemis was right there when we arrived.

Did you get the feeling like we did that the people who were still there were waiting for Freezer to sail?

It was good seeing so many people but it's also amazing how many don't have a clue what ship's what. They just go for something like this or the Queens in last week.

Nice picture Andrew.
All these protrusion actually make one believe that this is not one but two ships - like another larger one behind the 'conventional' Voyager class vessel.

Thanks a lot for these great pics, it's funny to see the Freedom of the seas and the Arcadia.

As you said the Arcadia seens tiny that the Freedom.

Freedom of the seas is really impressive, it would be great if we could see her near the Qm 2(in real I mean).

When we arrived on QM2 in Southampton in October of last year, Arcadia was docked nearby. My friends asked what was the name of that 'small' ship!

Funny you should say that, Ernst. When she was slowly approaching Hythe pier I said to my dad it looked like half a ship! I've started to upload some pics but only have one lot developed so will add more towards the end of the week. Sorting out my Arcadia and Artemis ones to scan, as well as the ones of Freezer passing Artemis. Very disappointed the Artemis ones using the 35mm camera came out light and grainy. At least they were better when Freezer arrived. Freedom
