www.shipparade.com has a section on QM2 and her different cabin grades. There is a pic of the 'hull hole' cabin.

The 'hull hole' is a little bit bigger, but the fare is a lot bigger! If you like to sunbathe the hull-hole is not as good as a regular balconly, but it's better than an Ocean View.
If you are doing a Trans I'd not bother with any type of balconly, myself.

I agree with Malcolm--I've sailed QM2 twice in hull hole balconies, which were nice but not worth the extra money. My last crossing on QM2 I took an inside cabin, and was so involved with activities, lectures, etc. around the ship that I was really only in the cabin to sleep and change clothes--it was fine!

As long as your wallet likes it too! The price deferential between cabin grades is enormous, not just a few hundred dollars like Caribbean cruises.
Personally I take a walk on deck at the end of the evening and before breakfast - it's cheaper!
