May 25 - June 3 - Home at Last: Freedom of the Seas arrives at the Port of Miami, where she will make a series of short sailings until June 4, when she will begin her regular sailing schedule of seven-night Western Caribbean itineraries from Miami.

The maiden arrival into Miami should be amazing!

I know this is still a couple of days off, but on the morning of the 26th when FOTS comes back into Miami from her first TA overnight cruise she will pass Majesty of the Seas moored dockside...an interesing day to see and compare the evolution of design.

During the next several days she will also slide past a couple of Fantasy-class ships, but on the 3rd of June, the best day for comparison, FOTS will pass the Carnival Triumph and Navigator of the Seas.

Should be very interesting. Anyone going to be there in Miami for these events?

I'll be there Thursday morning when she first arrives, although as of now the Pilots' station still has no time scheduled for her pilot pick-up. They're waiting until the night before to get an accurate read on her arrival time!

Unfortunately I'm leaving town Friday morning for a week, and had to decline invitations to two of her sailings!

I'll go take a good look at it Thursday in the afternoon then as it leaves I'll be at South Point where she will pass right through between there and Fisher Island, I've been waiting to see her since she left Turku, hopefully the weather is nice and clear. I'll try to get some pictures posted Thursday night.

Yes- I wish I could be there but I'm in northern Michigan. Sure hope y'all take pictures - especially one that shows the difference between Freedom and the Voyager class ship.

If you get a chance - get a great aft shot of the starboard side! (now that's asking a bit much!)

Here's a webcam shot of her arriving in Miami, in the Turning Basin. Too bad this morning is grey and drizzly, very atypical Miami weather!

I 'snapped' a whole series of pics of her arriving this morning...access the 'Photo Album' on the webcams page for Miami (under 'Port Information').

Well here she is, home in Miami at last:

Since she's the only ship in port today, there is no basis for comparison on her size. But she looks just like any VOYAGER Class vessel, berthed at the same pier, only a bit longer.

The Solarium:

It looks so big next to Carnival's Fascination.

What's wrong with the yellow, it's like it's falling off.

They seem not to get enough from dressing her in her decorative flags though. Concerning the yelowish balcony tape thing, i always thought that it was somethign to protect the balcony with and then it would be peeled away or taken off.. so i now really do not know why is seems to be coming off like that. Very unsightly for close in shots

Well, I'll try posting them again. I always seem to have a problem posting pictures, I see them on my screen but for other people it just does not come out. Maybe they'll be visible here:

Carlos, like most photo hosting sites webshots, fotki etc.. you cannot integrate the photos into other websites unless you have a paid for account. If you pay, you can do what you like, have a freebie and you can only send people to the webpages.

Thnks for the photos though the link works.

Go figure...I'll be out of town this coming weekend and may not be able to grab any web-snaps of her passing the Carnival Truiumph and NOTS on Saturday, then the Carnival Valor on Sunday....

Just may have to delay my departure from here Saturday until she gets docked. I really want to see her compared to the NOTS.

PS...any southern Florida folks will have this unique chance to get some ground-level comparison pictures of her this weekend too!!!

I think this is the one and only meeting of her and a Voyager-class ship?

Rubbish, the Navigator of the Seas pulled straight in this morning and did not go to the turning basin, so she is nose-to-nose with FOTS.

Will have to wait until she leaves to get a side-by-side comparison of the two.

I did get a few nice night shots of FOTS last night on the Miami webcam though...
