Looking at Travelpage’s Readers Reviews it struck me that some of you are actually going on cruises and NOT submitting a Readers Review. I was shocked!

Even worse, I believe that some of you are using the reviews to assist in picking a cruise but NOT returning the favour when you get back!

For example, few Celebity ships have reviews beyond 2005. No one has submitted a Black Watch review since 2005? Splendour of the Seas - 2003! Norwegain Dawn - 2004! Now I know that some of you have cruised on these ships of recent.

We need to know what these lines and ships are like in 2006!

As membership of Cruisetalk is free, I think it only fair that we give a little bit back by contributing to Joe's database of reviews. After all Cruisetalk is a vehicle to inform people about cruising and promote it. The Reviews play an important role. (In fact I discoverd Cruisetalk with a ‘Google’ search which found a Travelpage Readers Review - the rest is history.)

A 'Readers Review' can be relatively comprehensive or very brief. In fact you can write one in ten minutes. It can be as positive or negative as you like. It does not matter if the cruise was years ago, as long as you can still remember the details. The aim of course is to assist others in choosing a cruise line, a ship and an itinerary.

Here is the link to the 'Submit a Review' feature:

I actually would be glad to post reviews but:
-1 my english would need to be checked before posting.
-2 I've not cruised enough to be a valuable reviewer
-3 For various reasons, I didn't cruise recently...

That said, I really like checking others reader's reviews.

Right now I am very busy with another kind of 'contribution' - but I will try to come up with a review of my next cruise. (a ship which to my surprise has not been reviewed for six years now)

Altough I have been on some ships I only cruise once a year in the average - and I guess you are not interested to hear how the Galaxy was eight years ago or how Asuka II has been as Crystal Harmony.

I nevertheless may point out that not only reviews but also posting pictures would be highly appreciated! (I hope I will have the time to add some more soon)

Joe, would do that for you.

You can have an opinion if you have cruised once or one hundred times.

-3 For various reasons, I didn't cruise recently...

You can add past cruises.

Pascal *any* review is as good as the next.. the perspective of a first timer is different to someone who has sailed 200 times, all are valuable.

Mine for this year..
Monterey.. Spotless, lovely classic, but not for everyone.
Century.. FILTHY, a mess.. seemingly liked by Americans.

Pam
I have written a review of Century but until Celebrity give me an answer to certain things I won't be finishing it.

Hopefully you are not insinuating that Americans like things filthy and a mess?? On the contrary we are a cleanliness obsessed society as many other cultures will attest to.

Having sailed on CENTURY myself I experienced nothing but a ship in tip top shape with public rooms and cabins that were immaculate. I've experienced the same high standards on every Celebrity cruise. Sorry yours was not the same.

No Ernie, I was referring to the fact that the only people aboard who thought the ship was wonderful were an American couple... not the fact that they liked the mess/dirt. My wording was a bit ambiguous there.. sorry.

If you had been aboard you would have been more than disgusted too.. I g'tee that.

I have no doubt Pam. None the less I can assure you this is not typical of Celebrity. If so, they would have been out of business long ago. Of course it doesn't make up for the fact you received a very sub-standard experience.

This being said, I have learned that every cruise line deserves a second chance. If I didn't have that attitude it's likely I would have never returned to NCL, Cunard, HAL, and Carnival among others. Each of these cruise lines redeemed themselves the second or third time around. I've found that even the best of cruise lines can have a "bad day" so to speak. Some worse and less excusable than others.

And ships are usually big - even during the same cruise people can get the 'bad day expierience' while others have an excellent cruise. This is what makes it difficult to come up with a fair review - but I guess Pam knows that - which I assume is the reason why she waits for the reply from Celebrity.

Usually the frist thing I do at the end of a cruise is post a review, but this time with so many pictures, unpacking, and getting back to everyday life, I didn't post up a review yet.

So just for you Malcom, Ill post up a review, and hopefully a gallery on Cruiseserver and Webshots.

Hmm, would it be ok if I wrote a review for a cruise I took 3 years, ago, I remember just about everything ( you don;t forget your first cruise)

I have done reviews in the past & posted them in this forum. I am not computer literate like some people & cannot type fast enough to put it in the format Travel page requires before I lose my connection. Although set out in the same format, they are all in one "lump" & posted on several other cruise boards. Eric

Email them to Joe, in word format, and I'm sure he will divide them up for you and add them to our 'Readers Reviews'? You views are important to us.

(Please bear in mind that Joe has other work too, but he get's there in the end! )

I may be sailing with Asia Star (ex-Radisson Diamond) for a 2-night cruise to Shantou later this month, and am happy to write a review. Just wonder how do I submit a ship image at the top?
