Travel page says the capacity for the Sun Princess is 1200 however the cruise line says it's 1950. Which is correct?

I was on the Sun in 1996 and will be going again October 31st for a 10 day Carib cruise. Back then I thought the ship was fabulous and far superior to the Celebrity Zenith which I had sailed on the year before.

My last cruise was on the Maiden voyage of the Infinity. What's that...5 years now? I'm bringing my laptop and hope to post some updates on this ship, it's condition, food and service.

Anyone been on her recently?

I'm eager to see what the new resturants are like especially the 24 hour buffet in the Horizon court.

PS: Joe when are you going to get spell check for this site. This took me 10 minutes and I still got a bunch of words wrong

I would imagine that the Princess site would be the correct one, though I can not say for sure.

Maybe one is based on double berths and one is based upon all 3rd and 4ths being occupied.

Sun Princess carries 1950 double occupancy, maximum is something like 2200 but of course she almost never carries that many due to single cabins etc.

The (old) Royal Princess carried 1200 double occupancy so perhpas they got confused between the 2.

Over 700 passengers is quite a difference. Either someone is wrong or has the ship been enlarged? I know they've added sevearal restaraunts.

The correct answer is 972 cabins with a capacity of 1950. The ship profile has been updated.

I think that there was a previous "Sun Princess" to the current 1995 one.

What capacity was that?
