MSC has decided to change the name of the 133 000 tons MSC Serenata due to deliver in 2009.

The new name is MSC Splendida.

MSC want that it is no confusion between Costa Serena and MSC Serenata.

Not a very musical name, mind you unless you are a Mickey Mouse fan neither is "Fantasia". If they ever sell it to Louis no doubt it will be called mv Splendid.

Are MSC names totally about musical orientation?
I see nothing wrong with changing the name to at least make certainly more distinct than all the other clone names they are out there.

Just got home from two days aboard MSC Orchestra. Saw her named by Sophia Loren after a concert conducted by Ennio Morricone and followed by fantastic fireworks. The ship is even prettier inside than her sister, MUSICA, but MSC's food remains erratic to say the least (cold dab rolls anyone?)
