Hello all!

I was making a visit in Costa's website when i saw some Costa Allegra pictures and noticed that she is very different now! She looks very stylish to be honest! Much better now! I wonder if someone have some pics after the refit to share...?

Thank you!

Hi, have a look at my photos showing those public rooms that were changed:

First, Welcome aboard!

The Allegra Atrium

The dining room - aft part enclosed by glass wall for VIP

Piazzetta Allegra (and a chocolate bar)

The upper level of the spa is now "enclosed" as new massage rooms are built

This is the showroom with the new nightclub seating arrangement; it is named ballroom however

The Flamenco casino - formerly the Flamenco Ballroom; aft part enclosed for VIP

She seems to be not doing quite well here in Hong Kong, at least at the beginning of the season. At least one cruise was cancelled. The reason was said to be too few passengers - rumoured to be less than 100.

Just like Star Cruises, Costa has applied the "sudden change technique" on her itineraries for several times.

Wow! Thanks a lot Gundam X!

She looks great! Much better i think! I just did not understand how they changed the flamenco ballrom for the casino! So there's a ballroom missing! Well, i don't know, but for the photos i prefer her now.

Thanks a lot again Gundam X!

Because casion is important for Asian. And Casion is the golden egg for cruise lines in Asia

Interestingly, the casino is not opening 24 hours a day like other Asian cruise ships. I heard that the casino is not very popular at all, probably because those who cruise on Costa Allegra are not serious gamblers.

By contrast, Star Pisces is carrying up to 800-1000 daily pax on weekdays for overnight cruises, and pax number can be around 1300 during weekends.

Certainly the room of the casino is an airy room and should be a nice ballroom. Too bad it is now a casino, and also the "glasswall" view at the stern on both decks (restaurant and casino) are blocked for VIP only.

Besides, there are many reports that the ship is experiencing blackout while at least, for up to 30 minutes and 2 times in several cruises.

Hi

It is interesting that her sister ship the Costa Marina is for sale.

I wonder if she is having any mechanical problems.

As said before Allegra was given new engines during her conversion from containership and Marina was't. I took a cruise on the Marina back in 1997 and she was vibrating in the aft part of the ship.
