I completely agree. The thicker funnel works much better than the tall one used on the earlier ships. Looks like the blue boot topping needs to be extended down a little but that may be done later in the fitting out process.
There are some differences between SPLENDOR and CONCORDIA. 1. The funnel2. Aft pool is open and no glass dome3. Cabins aft of the spa have balconies instead of picture windows.4. The lido restaurant extends out over the sides more so than on CONCORDIA.5. General arrangement of lounges.
I'm booked on SPLENDOR next July. It's time to return to Carnival again.

I am booking despite the ship design - not because of it - I wonder how many people feel the same way about Carnival?

There are several here who think Carnival is a good choice. Their newbuilds have cabins w/restrained relaxing decor-more in line w/other lines and the food and service are suppose to be quite good.
Now the decor of the public rooms is another story but that may add to the fun-at least you don't have to sleep in them!
