Thanks for the pictures Aker Builder, time sees to pass so fast with the Freedom-class. Are there any noticeable differences between Ind. and the first two of the class? since she will sail europe.

Genesis ... youl have to wait, there is some steelwork (hull) but its only beginning, so there is not mutch to see yet, be patient!

Hi Aker Builder, what can you tell us/show us about the Genesis project. That's what 'insiders' are for.

We won't tell anybody else, promise.

Excellent set of photos, many thanks. Love the ones we are not likely to be able to get ourselves, the pods/bulbous bow etc. The one under the bow looking up makes one almost giddy

I would be most interested in knowing which ship will replace the Mariner in Port Canaveral. There is no current schedule for weekly sailings after Mariner leaves for the long trip around the horn to the West Coast. It is my best guess that Independence will come to Port Canaveral after her summer in Europe. Can anyone confirms this? Recab?

We have not and likely will not make any further announcements on PCN for a while. We still have SS sailing from there 2 times a week on 3 and 4 night cruises.

Yes, of course the old gal is still there. The weekly sailings must resume with some ship. If not IN, then perhaps relocating a ship from Miami such as LB or FR. In fact, I was just on the phone with RCI and asked the rep what he thought and he indicated that IN was coming to Ft Lauderdale.

The Independence will be home ported in FLL for six and eight night cruises that the Jewel of the Seas was doing in between her Europeon itineraries. RCI has not announced a replacement for the Mariner. Some seem to think that it makes for sense for either the Freedom or Liberty to move to PC. I also read on another board that the rumor is the Rhapsody was moving to PC after her Alaska run in late 09. Some reports are RCI is not happy with the fares they are getting on the Mariner and may place a smaller ship in that port for the seven night itineraries.

That's interesting. I had not heard that perspective. What about Navigator and it's 4-5 nighters out of Ft Lauderdale? NV and MR are the same anyway. Vision class from PC would be fine with me. Perhaps Grandeur after they stretch her or move the Enchantment up here would be fine with me. Have not sailed Brilliance class yet and the 6-8 nighters are tempting.

I think that while Navigator is at Ft. Lauderdale Enchantement will be taken to Tampa for the winter run. It would be nice to see it from the Sunshine Skyway.

Enchantment is moving to Panama as it's new homeport.

I thought it was Grandeur that was moving to Colon, and is actually sailing from Tampa and Enchantment will be heading to Panama. Thanks for clarifying Gordon.
