I was down in Fort Lauderdale for the weekend, and my friend's condo has a great view of the ships sailing out of Port Everglades. Not as many ships as in March, but still a few nice ones.

A few more

I was interesting to see the Zuiderdam and Westerdam on consecutive days to notice the differences with the built up stern on the Westerdam. Also fun to see the Emerald and Caribbean Princess one after the other for the differences

Very nice photos. It will start picking up next month. I cruise out of FLL on the Navigator OTS on 11/18. We have a total of six ships in port that day.

Fabulous! If I ever win the lottery I want a place there. Comparing the two Princesses makes me love that handle even more.

Great photos, I enjoyed everyone of them. However, the best still has to be the REGAL EMPRESS; looking as elegant, if not more so than the behemoths that departed. You go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd sail on her again.

Nice pictures indeed - thanks for posting. It's always 'funny' to see a cruise ship that 'close' to the beach.

Thad,

thanks for the great photos.

You can see the difference in the Vista-class ships's stern section very well in the photos.

And, needless to say, "Regal Empress" is my favorite among the ships pictured.

Best,

Raoul

Great photos. And come April, 2008, after dry-dockt, the Zuiderdam's stern will look like the Westerdam and the other Vista ships.

I thought WESTERDAM's stern (and soon, ZUIDERDAM's and eventually OOSTERDAM's) was actually slightly different from NOORDAM's, but looking at this photo I'm not so sure .

On another site there was a huge uproar about how HAL was "ruining" the appearance of these ships... Frankly I don't think it makes that huge a difference. It is subtle enough that I doubt most people would even notice.

Now, the real question - which is uglier, EMERALD PRINCESS or CARIBBEAN PRINCESS?

I am inclined to say EMERALD - as much as I dislike the "handle" I think the newer ships of this class are even worse, looking like the pylons holding it up collapsed and deposited the lounge on the aft deck!

The handle might be ugly and it might 'ruin' the pool deck below - but I really would like to see this lounge from the inside. (funny enough, there are not too many pictures online)

It's not as impressive on the inside as it appears from the outside. The Viking Crown lounges on the Royal Caribbean ships are actually more impressive on the inside, and the view looking at the swimming pools is pretty cool too.

Remember these lounges on Princess are pretty much deserted during the day. At night when they are active there is not much to look at. It's usually too dark to see a whole lot.

I am waiting to see how many modular cabins they can shove on the foredeck! In the end they all start to look like cattle carriers.

Fantastiv image Thad. Well done!

As Ernie said it is very unimpressive. It is small (cramped) inside. Even the view did not look as good as I expected. Some pictures make it look bigger than it is.

See Here

I agree 100% with Ernie and Malcolm - Skywalkers on the GRAND-class ships is nothing to write home about. After all the hype I found that space distinctly disappointing.

LOL, that's exactly what it does look like At least neither have the 'go faster' rockets.

I think people are more concerned over the smaller balconies aft than the actual looks? At least that's what I have read, but then again it does stop all the chips/cans being thrown over.

Great pics Thad; you need to spend more time down there

Pam

I think the Noordam stern is more in line with the Eurodam stern. Indeed i was surpriced to and must look good to see which Vista it was.

Greetings Ben.
