Also news that NEW FLAMENCO has been sold to Dutch Club Cruise, who will no doubt charter the vessel out, as they do with their other ships - VAN GOGH, ALBATROS, JULES VERNE and ASTORIA.
The sale of these two ships leave Israel's Caspi Cruises and Spain's Globalia without cruise ships and it will be interesting to see whether they return to the market.

Welcome to this forum!
Do you have any further information on what hotel ship role NEW FLAMENCO is going to perform?
quote:Originally posted by Waynaro:I hope it is not the end for THE TOPAZ. IMO, DREAM is a mediocre replacement for THE TOPAZ.
THE TOPAZ is an "interesting" ship but she is also very expensive to operate. She is also of course very old and while well-kept is clearly worn out in many places - not that that matters much to Peace Boat. To put it kindly she is a very, very old lady and while she is wonderful as a historic artifact, she leaves a lot to be desired as a functioning ship. She has had a very long and enormously successful life - certainly more so than her poor sister! - so I am afraid I am not going to shed any tears for her loss. But I am happy to have had the chance to visit her (including the phenomenal QUEEN MARY-like bridge) - not a ship I would ever have wanted to miss!
