I don't know whether PRINCESS DAPHNE will replace or complement FUNCHAL down under. With the growth of the that market and rather than have its ships laid up in Lisbon for the winter, I'm sure CIC would like to see them both in service.
I'm looking forward to seeing how the ship looks after her refurbishment in Lisbon where she is due in the next week or so.
All the best
I am wondering if Princess Daphne will have her front superstructure extended, to match her sister ship, which could result in an increase in the number of passengers she carries.
At present she carries nearly 200 less passengers than her sister ship.

There has been talk on the Portugese shipping website that the owners Classic International Cruises are planning to update all of their ships and some work has already been carried out.
According to the AIS maps Ocean Monarch has sailed from Piraeus this morning for Lisbon.
She is due to arrive there at 8.00 am on the 25th January.
Ocean Monarch, on route to Lisbon, passed through the Staits of Gibraltar about 10.00 hrs. GMT this morning.
Ocean Monarch arrived in Lisbon about 12. 30 hrs today.
The port information shows her expected time of departure as the 3rd May 2008 so it looks as if a lot of work is going to be done on her as she will be there for about three months.
Re Australian cruising in 2008, Funchal is shown as sailing on her usual cruises from Fremantle but Ocean Monarch, which will have been re-named Princess Daphne, is cruising from Sydney.
