Forgive me if this is old hat, but I have only just been alerted to it.

Check the location of any ship, anywhere in the world (well some of them at least).

If you start here:

you can then follow links to search for individual ships.

Hours of harmless fun, no doubt.

Wow! What a great website. Some ships seem to be up to date while others are days, even weeks old. Interesting to note that there are several ships missing. For instance, I could not find 'The World' although according to their itenerary, she should be in the Indian Ocean north of Madagascar. Additionally, I could not find her anywhere when doing the name ship.

Does anyone know of any other websites similar to this?

I've also come across
"3D Cruise Ships" which shows cruise ships "live" position in Google Earth. It also integrates their web cams and information about the next port of call

The ship's positions and provided weather data are based on OBS-reports sent by e-mail or SAT-C to land based meteorological stations. Not all ships participate in this, at HAL I know this has been done for years already. Reports may be submitted anytime; therefore positions aren't always accurate. When wrong data is provided, ships are shown on wrong locations e.g. Adventure o/t Seas in the Indian Ocean.
