A Director of Iberocruceros has (probably inadvertently) leaked the news to a newspaper that Carnival's HOLIDAY will be shifted to Iberocruceros in June 2009 as GRAND HOLIDAY, joining sistership GRAND CELEBRATION.

Carnival has neither confirmed or denied this.

In the latest issue of Cruise Industry News, Alfredo Serrano--GM of Iberocruceros, is quoted as saying that the line would get a fourth ship next year. Although he does not identify the ship, I suspected that the ship would be the Holiday.

Approximately six months prior, I seem to recall that someone at Carnival made a remark that the Holiday was the right size for Mobile and that a larger ship was not being transferred to Mobile any time soon.

I think Mobile is going to be diasppointed and lose its only year-round ship - by all accounts, profits have not been great and why has no other line based a ship there as well? The port will be extremely lucky if Carnival decides to send a Fantasy-class ship there as a replacement!

There is talk on the other boards that the Triumph will be moving to NOLA and the Fantasy to Mobile. It seems that the Glory is moving to Miami next year to take over the Triumph's position.

Surely we don't think IC is ready for a Grand class yet ? Mind if they are growing at a ship a year they would grow into it but it doesn't seem a good strategy for the group overall.

It's TRUE AND CONFIRMED that Holiday go to Iberocruceros. It was selled a one week ago!! New as given me from one crew of the ship, that will move from the Holiday, because of the sell!
The new name will be Grand Holiday.
