Hi everyone, I was hoping for these photos to include a glorious sunrise, but alas no, in line with the awful start to September it was dismal and raining!
Anyway, here is PSS Waverley about to depart for Poole whilst Arcadia and Seven Seas Voyager arrive.

Brgds,
Andrew

Hi Patsy.
Thought she was leaving at 06:30 for the Dorset coast. Obviously not!
Always nice to see her this time of year when she is sailing on the South Coast, have done a couple of trips on her, well worth it.

The Waverley finished her 2009 Thames season a week or so ago. It was a real treat to have seen her a number of times, including passing under Tower Bridge.

I still haven't managed to organise a trip on her, but we had friends round on one of the evenings that she was around who, having seen her in action, seem to have acquired enough taste and enthusiasm to try to put something together next year.

Thanks for those great shots. Last month when we were leaving Southampton on Saga Ruby for our crossing, we unexpectedly met Waverley paddling towards us. I took a couple of photos as she approached & then lined up the viewfinder for a great close up shot, to find that the battery was suddenly flat!

We had hoped to sail on her in May when we were back in Scotland, but they changed her schedule due to mechanical problems.

Last year when we were on QE2 for her final visit to the Clyde, we hoped to sail on the Balmoral but missed her by five minutes.

These little ships are proving to be somewhat elusive!!!

The Waverley brings back childhood memories of a holiday spent in Largs on the Clyde, when we spent many days going 'doon the waater'.

There is a lovely painting by Stephen Payne on board the Prinsendam, of Waverley with Prinsendam, in the English Channel.

Graham.
