This video reminds me of the time when the Japanese came to the US to see how we manufactured products-taking notes and pictures and then in less than a year they had similar products on the market.
Could it be that the Japanesse want to venture deeply into the cruise ship building business? I know they have built a few ships for Princess.
They are a major player in the steel making business and do make a lot of cargo vessels.
Do you think we will see more Japanese built cruise ships??

I believe the video was Korean, not Japanese. STX is a South Korean shipbuilder, so it makes sense that they would be reporting on their European shipyards. Don't be surprised to see passenger ships built in South Korea in the near future.

Although the ship will be wonderful achievement, every time I see an image of 'Central park', it gets narrower!

I agree, CP seems to be shrinking! Either that or Rising Tide is enormous

I think 'slot canyon' was the term I used several months ago to describe Central Park. Can't wait to see actual pictures of the Royal Promenade with the 'lowered' ceiling. I bet it'll feel more like a really small mall compared it's sisters on the Freedom-Class.

It's not necessary to wait. I think the indoor promenade aboard Oasis of the Sea will be wider but if you can find a lower ceiling version of the Voyager class promenade aboard the Color Fantasy and Color Magic.

See here.

So when will RCI reveal details of the main dining room and the theatre? I suppose both must be the biggest afloat if they have gone for one main one of each?

When we were on the Freedom in November, the maitre'd told me that he was moving to the Oasis. He stated that the main dining room would have one complete floor of the three level dining room dedicated to My Time Dining. He also stated that the dining room was not large enough to seat all guests in two seatings and RCI was banking on guests using MTD and dining at the many other places on board.

The main theater will not be much larger than the Freedom class. In place of showing the shows twice as they do now, they will be shown a total of four times during the cruise.

I guess I didn't do something to post a reply. But to now have 4 shows(singers and dancers I assume)will sure cut down on having other performers. After seeing these cookie cutter shows it gets boring IMHO after awhile. I wish cruise lines would do away with the say-16-20 S&D staff and bring on some really good performers.Once again IMHO
No flak please.

Not really. The comedians are being moved to the comedy club. There are usually two of them during a seven night cruise. They are still going to have a headliner on at least one night. Add to that the ice shows, Aqua Theater and there will be plenty of entertainment on board.
