I think she is return (after some work) on the Peaceboat fleet, because Peaceboat have updated their website, and we can seen the CLIPPER PACIFIC and MONA LISA now.

But, when the CLIPPER PACIFIC was abandonned in Piraeus, the ship on their website was still THE TOPAZ...

After the extra costs of operating Pacific Clipper and the delays to passengers on the Peace Boat voyage, I doubt if the Japanese Peace Boat organization would ever charter her again.

Their website is never up to date and the pictures of the two ships has been there for some time.

I saw her in Piraeus 2nd week of Nov 2008 docked next to one of the Thomson N twins. That evening she was gone.

On the Pacific Clippers second voyage for the Japanese Peace Movement she departed two weeks late from Yokohama on the 7th September 2008 and was due to arrive at Piraeus on the 9th October 2008.

The late departure from Yokohama was due to problems with the ship on the previous voyage when she was impounded in the USA over various safety issues and having holes in her hull !

The Mona Lisa took over the voyage from Piraeus on the 6th November 2008 as the Pacific Clipper was then running one month behind schedule !

This was due to a whole load of other problems with the Pacific Clipper and her being detained at various ports before she got to Piraeus.

Re the pictures of Pacific Clipper on their website, it took them over three months to remove the pictures of The Topaz from their website !

According to the Peace Boat website:

Peace Boat organizes its voyages on chartered passenger ships, adapting the onboard spaces to provide a unique and dynamic environment for its participants. Since 2008, Peace Boat has been chartering MS Clipper Pacific for its global voyages. The current 63rd and upcoming 64th Global Voyages for Peace are being conducted with the MV Mona Lisa, on a short-term charter.

Perhaps the fact that Mona Lisa is only committed to the current voyage indicates that they are not too certain WHAT ship will be used for future voyages - it may not be either of these.

Well, they cannot use "Mona Lisa" from May, 2009 to the end of August, as she will be operating on the German market during that time.

Best,
