Carnival Pride left California a couple of weeks ago I wonder where she got off too? Maybe a quick dry dock? They are putting in the new parking lot here in Baltimore and I see some cars have showed up outside the terminal.Mabe the Captains Car? Celebrity has also started advertising here in Baltimore for it's up coming cruises this winter I am not sure they ave added enough parking to hold the cars of three ships at one time.

Here's a few webcam grabs I got of her on 3/30 passing though the Miraflores Locks in the Panama Canal. After that she meandered her way to Miami arriving April 5th.

CARNIVAL PRIDE Miraflores Locks

She had a 6-day cruise departing April 5th and is scheduled for departure 4/11 for a 7nt Eastern Caribbean and 4/18 for a 7nt Western Caribbean before going up to B'more arriving there before you know it!

She's going to look real nice parked up against I-95 you get a great view after you leave the tunnel. They have feverishly been working on the new parking area.I think they need to add a mutilevel garage as it still looks like it might get tight in there with more than one ship then again most people probaly fly in. Excited for the new ships yeah

Whats the length of time from departure pierside in Baltimore until the ship exits the Chesapeake Bay at the mouth near the Bay Bridge Tunnel? Seems quite a distance.

We did a Canada/New England cruise that arrived back in Washington DC and we passed through the Bay Bridge Tunnel around 5:00 PM and docked the next morning around 6:00 am so it took us about 11 hours to travel a similar distance.

Given they are in the bay for more of the trip Carnival Pride might be able to do it in less time.

We saw her replacement on the Mexican west coast run the Carnival Splendor docked in Puerto Vallarta several weeks ago. I assume she was on her delivery voyage up to Long Beach. The thicker funnel was a great improvement over the earlier versions of that ship.

Wow. Eleven hours. Thats got to be one of the longest pierside-to-open ocean transits out there except for maybe leaving out of New Orleans. I wonder what the longest is?

It was NCL's Leeward. A number of ships sail up the Potomac on a regular basis. I've seen Deilmann's Deutschland and Hapag-Lloyd's Columbus in the past.

Here's a pic I took last Sunday of Carnival Pride at Port of Miami. She looked very small docked between Freedom of the Seas and Carnival Valor.

Sorry for the picture quality, I didn't have my good camera with me. I'll take some more pictures of her next Sunday or the other before she moves on to Baltimore.

Interesting.

I knew (relatively) large cruise ships had been to Alexandria, but not DC.

Actually, Alexandria is basically the cruise port for DC. It's about 800 yards across the Potomac from the district.

Oh, so you went to Alexandria?

That makes more sense.

When you said DC, I thought you meant DC.
