The problem-plagued CLIPPER PACIFIC (ex SONG OF NORWAY, SUNDREAM, DREAM PRINCESS, DREAM, CLIPPER PEARL) has been renamed FESTIVAL by her owners, International Shipping Partners. She has been laid up at Bourgas, Bulgaria, since 9 April.

Hi Tony

It has been reported on the owners website that she is chartered and is to be cruising in the Eastern Mediterranean under the name of Festival.

There is a picture of her on the cruisingtalk website and she has been re-painted in what appears to be a grey colour and has her new name in blue letters on her bow.

Any idea who is to operate her ?

Regards

Neil

Hi Neil,

Any chance of a link to this photo on the cruisingtalk website.
I have just been searching the site and maybe I'm thick, but I can't find it anywhere.
Have searched under Clipper Pacific and Pearl as well as Festival.

Rgds/Mike

Unfortunately Festivals career with Caspi Cruises didn't last long.

She was from the beginning scheduled to have her last 2-night cruise for Caspi from Ashdod 9.10. but she ended her service when she arrived Ashdod from her 4-night cruise on the 30.8. Magic 1 is still continuing her service normally.

Festival left Ashdod 2.9. and had a stop at Istanbul on the 7.9. and arrived once again to Burgas on the 9.9.

Thanks for the info. It has been a short 'encounter' and I have noticed from the various photos online [inc Ernie's Wind Star cruise] that she has never even had a logo on her funnel which has just been left plain white - looks most odd to me.

Too less passengers? Trouble with the ship? Or why is she now back to Burgas?

Having owned the ship in the past perhaps they found problems with her as happened when chartered by the Japanese Peace Movement.

Looking back at her schedules the best speed she did, while on charter to Caspi Cruises, was just over 16 knots on one day !
