Hello!!!

Of course, BLACK PRINCE is not the nicest ship on our oceans.. but since I am interested in cruise ships more than 20 years ago I know the ship, but never had the chance to see her... Now I wanted to spot her in Rotterdam 30.09.09, but seems that there will be something special at work, so that I will not can go ...

I searched for other ports where I could see her before she will end her cruise ship career... but only Liverpool and Dublin could be interesting for a short and not to expensive combination of ship spotting and city visit..

But how are the chances to take photos? Liverpool and Dublin are possibilities.. Can somebody can say if it is possible to take photos there and where?

Very last chance would be a holiday to Canary Islands .. But then I would have to ask a new question, because I never was there .. so same problem

Thank you very much!

No information?

Next idea is a trip to Southampton again... I was there in July... could be the best place for photos... But after that there will be no chance for me somewhere else...

I do not know the situation in Dublin (berths ...);

I see BLACK PRINCE will also come to Chatham ... ??????!!!!! Is this a place which can be reached by train!?

05.10.09: BOUDICCA in Portsmouth.. who can give information about berth and photo places there? Could be nice in combination with Southampton

Unfortunately you may have to visit their site here

http://www.fredolsencruises.com/plan-cruise/by-ship/black-prince

and go cruise by cruise, looking at the itinerary. Good luck.

Do you know where cruise ships like BOUDICCA will be berthed in Portsmouth?

Is there a chance to take photos at the berth and wenn arriving/departing? Where?

Thank you!

Portsmouth is fab for watching ships arrive and depart [weather, sunrise/set permitting] from the Round Tower [Harbour Entrance] Gosport [Spinnaker Tower behind] or even the Esplanade.
Portsmouth is terrible for viewing ships at berth [only parts visible over buildings], unless one goes on a harbour excursion vessel trip, when you can get right up close.
Ships at berth cannot be viewed from the Spinnaker Tower either.

Here is a map of the terminal area. Boudicca will most likely be at 2 or 3.
This is where I have marked A on the
map.

Using my photos from this year:-
What you can see from the Spinnaker Tower
Expedition from Harbour Trip alongside & departing from the Round Tower
There are other
Portsmouth views there. The Round Tower is a 10 min walk from Gunwharf Quays where the Spinnaker Tower is [& harbour trips]. Then there is also the Historic Dockyard where the harbour trips stop too. But it depends what day one goes if the trips will be running off season. You will need to enquire.

The actual movements are listed on the QHM site, but not very far in advance and also in the Portsmouth News.
The cruise schedule is here.

I am sure Louy can give you far more info.

Thank you very, very much! :-)

Unfortunately, private things avoid a decision about my trip to England,... but I hope I can do it. SAGA ROSE and BLACK PRINCE would be the last chance... and Portsmouth would be a nice new destination for me.
