I've been out of the loop over the summer and haven't paid much attention to cruise and ship news. Does anybody know what's going to happen to the Holiday when it finishes it's cruises out of Mobile. Is she going to get refurbished or did Carnival sell here? Thanks

Correct. The economic crisis hit Spain especially hard. The real estate bubble collapsed and unemployment is up to 20%. Correspondingly, the Spanish cruise market has also gone down (don't know how much though)

I don't know because I never paid much attention to how much companies sell their old ships for, but doesn't that seem like a lot to ask for this ship? Considering it age and size. Maybe I am wrong?

Hi all!

It was about time Carnival passed the page. They held on to that ship for too long. Even the Jubilee and Celebration, although newer, were sold long before the Holiday.

Thanks for the info. If she doesn't get sold do you think Carnival will lay her up someplace or keep using her for something till she sells?

I think she will continue 3-5 day gambling cruises from the Redneck Riviera.
