Fred Olsen now has the other two sisters.
quote:Originally posted by NAL:Malcolm....are you saying Fred Olsen now has all three former RVL sisters? I knew they had two, but never heard they acquired the third.
No, Malcolm posted pics of the RV Sea as she is w/Phoenix Reisen and then, simply, stated that FO has the other two sisters.
I LOVE these ships...it is because of their constant visits to Halifax in the early 80s and the incredible staff in NYC and SFO (who allowed me onboard to talk to the staff and tour) which propelled me into this whacky and lovable industry as a career path.
John Maxtone-Graham in his book, 'Liners to the Sun', tells a story of her RV days. She was sailing from Vancouver to San Francisco, when a wealthy widow was killed by her male companion/servant when he hit her over the head with a full bottle of champagne! It was in Canadian waters so the murder case was held in Victoria. He did not say if the bottle broke. They say it is bad luck if it does not, so I suppose it didn't!!
Graham.
