Hi, Newby here to this forum and to Princess Cruises. Actually only one cruise before and that was from Vancouver to Alaska a few years ago on Celebrity.

I had booked a balcony guaranty on the Crown Princess (surprise for husband's upcoming retirement) and was assigned Stateroom 214 on Aloha Deck. (legend on ship deck plan shows category BD)

I called Princess to ask about it and after some discussion with the agent ended up changing to Baja Deck Stateroom 629 (still category BD)

First cabin was towards the front of the ship, the one now is closer to the rear and on the other side.

Now, of course, I am wondering whether I made the right choice. When we were on the Alaska cruise a few years ago we were near the front of the ship and felt quite ill one night when the waters were rough, that is why I called to ask about a different location.

Would really appreciate any insight from anyone reading. Sure glad I found this forum - lots of help here.

I find that being at the back is better, except i have only been on ships of upto 77,000 tons, and i have always been at the front. it is hard to notice movements in bed and on top of that, your biggest worry is being woken up by the sound of a large bow wave!

Smoothest location is always mid-ship on a low deck in the hull.

That's where I'm booked on her. Sure it's not the OASIS or EPIC, but it'll be my 6th time on Princess. Looking forward to it.

OASIS would be fun to try but EPIC really has little appeal for me. I'd take a Princess ship over her any day. Maybe that makes me boring, but....

Took the Crown in the Caribbean last fall and again this Spring in Italy and Greece. While she is large, she is not over-whelming and offers fantastic space whether you laying in the sun or looking for spot for a drink before or after dinner.

You will have to try the Crown Grille for diner, worth the $25. My only complaint was that Explorer lounge was over crowded most nights and Club Fusion almost empty. Princess should put the comidians in the larger club and the trivia, and 60's nights intoExplorer's.

It's fantastic ship, great service, nice public area and good to great food. Enjoy!
