Today 17:00 SALAMIS GLORY arrived to Limassol from her 2-night cruise to Beirut. This was the very last cruise the ship will ever do for Salamis Cruises, and the next year SALAMIS FILOXENIA will take over. What will happen to Salamis Glory now is not yet published, but unfortunately scrapping the ship is definitely a serious option for the company.

I hope we'll get some information soon about the future of this lovely ship.

This is very sad although I am surprised that she stayed in service that long.

I am usually opposed to posting video clips which are essentially slide shows (if it's not moving photos are usually better). However, since I don't have any photos I may make an exception on the sad occasion of her retirement and post a link to such a clip:

Giving the surprising response to the Salamis Glory clip posted above I decided to add a short video clip on Princesa Marissa to my webpage.

Talking about Birka and Louis I also decided to make two short clips on Birka Princess publicly accessible.

There is now also a subpage on Salamis Glory with a link to the clip posted above.

Hello everybody,

"Salamis Glory" has been renamed "Glory" (St. Kitts & Nevis flag). She is currently anchored off Limassol.

Best,

Raoul

Oh, so sad, she was the last of the brazilian "White Swains" surviving. These ship's in the 60's were really luxury for our market, they were know for the great service, the food and specially for the how much the ships were spotlless WHITE! They made several Rio de Janeiro - Santos (São Paulo) crossing, but with the "Air Bridge" between these cities soon they became useless as they did not follow the cruise market. My dad always says something about theses ships and their company "LLoyd Brasileiro". I think that is incredible a country with so much resources and such a incredible and huge coast does not have a single cruise line or even a cruise ship. That's make me sad, because at the end, we brazilians give our money to foreign companies wen we could be helping a little bit more our country... (ok, i know it will rain critics about this last sentence)

Hello everybody,

"Glory" has now departed Limassol, bound for Port Said. She has apparently received a cargo ship certificate for a single voyage.

Best,

Raoul

After the sale of the GLORY, she has received St.Kitts /Nevis flag. The new owner of the ship is TAYMOUTH LTD from India, and the current ship manager is PRAYATI SHIPPING PVT LTD, also from India.

The Prayati Shipping is the same company that is currently managing ONYX (ex. FENNIA, CASINO EXPRESS, C EXPRESS). The owner of the ONYX is Attar Construction. The captain of the ONYX is said to admit that eventually the ship is on her way to Bangladesh.

So apparently even GLORY is on her way to Bangladesh or India.
