Here's another pic of them adding the Disney Dream's bridge module (taken before Celebrity Eclipse was floated out). Maybe Disney changed their mind and we'll get updates every week or so now? It appears most of the assembled modules from the first stack forward are all already in place?

It's been a month since the Eclipse floated out. This grab from today has the Disney Dream with her funnel covered as well as the aft portions of her assembly. I wonder whats under there?

It's interesting that the Solstice is 6,000GT smaller than the Dream yet they are able to install the Dream's funnel prior to leaving. I'm not sure why they covered the funnel, I thought maybe painting but in the older pictures it already looks painted. I can't tell if the logo is on though so that may be what's happening.

I will be interested to hear what else Disney has up their sleeves. IMHO they have some of the most beautiful ships exterior wise. Still not sure that I want to cruise on a Disney ship as I would miss the casino.

Gross tonnage has nothing to do with this. My guess is the DISNEY DREAM's height is shorter than the SOlSTICE.

Yep, it simply has to do with the overall height of the two ships in question. The Solstice class is a little taller hence their funnels had to be installed once they were floated out.

It's mostly showing some of the cool innovations (which we already know about) but it's got some cool new videos of the technology in action with prototype sets and some shots of the dream itself.

I have a question about the beginning construction phases of the new Celebrity Silhouette as the Disney Dream is in the shed. The Disney Dream appears to be mostly structurally complete with all the major modules all in place, and at some point in time before she is floated out (and towards the end of summer) the new Celebrity Silhouette should begin with a keel laying.

The current placement of the Disney Dream that far forward in the builders shed seems like it would not allow the Silhouette to begin unless Dream is floated back towards the main hall exit door. You can see in the picture comparisons below that the Disney Dream is a goods distance away from that main exit door as compared to earlier constrcution of the Equinox.

My question is, does anyone know if there is any intention of floating the Dream backwards to allow the Silhouette to begin construction?

At Meyer Werft, the ships in the large building hall are usually floated back once all blocks have been added. It looks like all blocks have been added to the Disney Dream, so it should be floated toward the doors in not too long.

The hull art is inovative. To some extent it reminds one of old ships that had hull decor.

It looks like what they have on the Wonder and Magic. :/

I guess you can say it was innovative back in 1999 when the current twins were launched since the designed were unique then, but I think everybody who knows that the Dream is being built expected the same style of design with it being a Disney ship.

It does look good though.

As part of my boring life I look at webcams all night long at work and when I get home in the morning for several hours. I took webcam grabs off of theMeyerWerft Site that updates about every 15 seconds. When it doesnt update, or is facing out towards the parking lot, usually something is going on inside they don't want you to see, like adding modules or actually moving the ship. The two webcam grabs above were taken within 24 hours of each other.

Looking at the ship now backed up we can see the front area. Anyone else think she looks like a Voyager/Freedom class ship in here current state? That large white rounded front with portholes is what does it. Once she is done i'm sure it will look different as the concept art looks like some form of solid glass shield goes across all the port holes on each deck.

Not innovative at all up to the 1910's passenger liners where stern and bow sections where decorated this way. Let alone Tall ships up to the 1930's have this sort of decorations. But It's very nice Disney restart this tradition by adding this kind of decorations to there ships. Love it very much.

I wonder if they have Goofy painting the decorations as on the Magic & Wonder?

By looking at the stern photograph, where you can see the mounting and supports for the figures, and the photograph, there appears to be a third broomstick just to the port side of the name scroll. That will be very cool indeed...
