Saw this in Ship Spotting. I think she looks nice. I wonder if she does well for them if they will be tempted to buy her "sister" the Astor.

She looks very nice in Saga's color

I really see forward to see her live when she arrive 29 march,she will also open the cruise season 2010 here

what a superbly done conversion, as far as the outside is concerned!

As for "Astor" (II), unless Saga is willing to pay a ridiculously high price, they won't have a chance to get her prior to 2019 at the earliest. Premicon is investing heavily in TransOcean Kreuzfahrten, which now is a 100% affiliate of theirs. They won't be willing to give their flagship away and ruin their own investment.

Having never been aboard this vessel I am not really qualified to say, but she does seem to be a disappointment after Saga Rose. Does she have more open deck space than it appears? What will be her pax capacity?

The SAGA PEARL II has a capacity of 446 pax.
Her open deck-space is quite big, especially the rear decks are very spacious, she has a jogging-track on the top-deck and a sports-deck.

It's a quite pleasant ship, especially after her conversion to SAGA PEARL II she's even more attractive than before.
In my opinion it's a good replacement for SAGA ROSE. Of course, a ship like SAGA ROSE which is unique cannot simply be copied. But the es-ASTORIA is a fine vessel of newer age which will do well with Saga.

Having today had a look at the webcams at some of the Norwegian ports she will visit on her maiden cruise, with the amount of snow they still have, I would think her elderly passengers will need thermal underwear to keep them warm if they are going ashore.

Hope there is also a heating system on the ship that is working.

Patrick....thank you for the information. If as you say, she will be good for Saga. Her low density of 446 pax means a lot. 450 pax was the capacity of Sagafjord as built which was very comfortable to say the least.

She looks very good, and after the conversions of Ruby/Rose no doubt that she will look elegant at the inside. She and here near near sister always look like 2 smaller Europa.
