today in the morning Celebrity Eclipse left Papenburg and is just now on her way on the river Ems. I had the chance to make many photos and I am sure you will enjoy them.
Here is the shortest way to the photos:

Does she come back to Papenburg for final fitting out before delivery?

Wonderful pictures, as always. THANKS for sharing. It's amazing you can get that close to her as she is backing out through the gate.

I wonder if there will be an occasion that we will see her and her sisters together?

You reckon? I think the different name painted on the bow has almost created a whole new class

Great images! Enjoyed the video showing the tight squeeze and hearing her horn. I find it absolutely fascinating that they actually back this ship down the river for another 20 miles until reaching open waters.

Even though it's a new ship coming on line soon I would not cruise on this ship after doing Solstice and Equinox one after the other. Both of these ships had bad sewer smells on various decks as reported on my last ship review. I wonder if this problem was addressed on this new ship?
I think FreedomOTS or OasisOTS is probably our next cruise. We have yet to sail on these class of ships.

I sailed on SOLSTICE and never smelled anything but that wonderful new ship smell.

I think the Solstice Class is one of the best out there, and I would not hesitate to return. The decor probably the most sophisticated on the high seas right now. It's stunning. What are my other large ship options in this league? There is not a whole lot that is comparable, except QM2 and OASIS (IMO).

It's also unlikely I would write off an entire class of ships because of an occasional smell in certain areas. I've smelled many things on many ships but none have been enough to drive me away. The older ships like NORWAY, REGAL EMPRESS, etc. were notorious for their various "odors" but I think that was part of the charm. My brother thought the OOSTERDAM smelled like a nursing home the minute we boarded. I didn't really agree although there were areas where the smell reminded me of my Grandmother's senior living community. Anyway, it wasn't something that would keep me from returning.

Ernie, even some of the crew I spoke with remarked of the foul odors on this ship. Being a new ship one would not expect to encounter this. They said the crews quarters areas the smell was most noticable.
Just an FYI for those think about cruising on the Solstice class ships.
I hope once Eclipse goes into service someone will report if they fixed the problem.

I can only go by my own personal experience. I spent 7-days on SOLSTICE and I don't recall any adverse odors. I also don't see hundreds of posts regarding this on CC so I have to assume it's not some sort of epidemic. I'm not saying you did not experience odors, I'm just saying I didn't and personally I would pick the Solstice Class over just about anything comparable out there.
