Silhouette got a little taller overnight...

...which matches up to this section of the completed version:

With the Disney Dream having been floated out of the builders dock yesterday, the stern module of Celebrity Silhouette has been moved into that vacated spot and they are busy setting up keel blocks on the floor of the dock to begin construction of the rest of her.

Lights out on Silhouette: The live cam streamed all night and on one lengthy occasion showed a darkened hall. Then the lights came back on again.

Another new picture from Meyerwerft of the Celebrity SILHOUETTE under construction, this showing her at near full length as I imagine her bow is still not in place yet.

This image is of her port side stern looking forward:

Slightly off topic (my apologies!) but I just realized that this yard is going to see a lot of ships built quickly:

AIDASol - 2011 delivery
Celebrity Silhouette - Fall 2011 delivery
Disney Fantasy - April 2012 delivery
AIDA Unknown - 2012 delivery
Celebrity Reflection - Fall 2012 delivery
NCL F4 1 - April 2013 delivery
AIDA Unknown - Spring 2013 delivery
NCL F4 2 - April 2014 delivery

8 ships between now and Spring of 2014!

It is great to see that Meyer Werft has a good book of orders for the next couple of years...

Best regards,

Brian

Beezo Dont forget the newbuilds for Princess!

2011:
Disney Dream
Marina (Oceania)
AIDASol
L’Austral (sister to Le Boréal)
Costa Fantastica
Carnival Magic
Seabourne Quest
MSC Fantastica
Celebrity Silhouette

2012:
Disney Fantasy
AIDA (6th of that class)
Costa Fascinosa
Riviera (Oceania; sister to Marina)
Carnival Breeze
MSC Favolosa
Celebrity Reflection

2013:
AIDA (7th of that class)
NCL F4 (#1)
Princess (new-class #1)

2014:
NCL (F4 #2)
Princess (new-class #2)

I am guessing that after the delivery of the Celebrity REFLECTION in the Fall 0f 2012 we wont see anymore newbuilds from them for a while. They will no doubt (hopefully?) keep the Celebrity CENTURY around for another five years.

After her FLOATOUT at the end of last month and subsequent repositioning back into the builders dock, she now has her bow attached. All those giant prefabricated modules on the side of her of course belong to the new Disney Fantasy currently under construction:

He was only referring to Meyer Werft's order book, which is prety impressive but doesn't include all the ships you've listed.

Not sure I see that happening, though I would certainly like to as she is one of my very favorite ships. But even given her big refurbishment in 2006, she will be noticeably different from all the other ships in the fleet by the time the current program of improvements to the MILLENNIUM-class ships is carried out, which will be early 2013 (or early 2012 if one considers CONSTELLATION to already be "finished," but she still has more significant changes to come). So I am not sure how much longer they will keep her around, especially when you consider that from adding five SOLSTICE-class ships and losing three CENTURY-class ships is still a huge net gain in capacity.

Of course, I wish they kept all the CENTURY-class and gave them the kind of upgrades the MILLENNIUM-class are getting, since as I said, I really like these ships, but the two that have left the fleet have certainly gone to a good home and that's where I expect CENTURY to follow. They're getting the kind of investment they deserve, just under a different flag.

REFLECTION will be slightly bigger than the previous ships, that has been confirmed. However, it is my understanding that the increase will be sought in an extra deck. However, would not be surprised if there are some other changes as well, so you could well be right!

The ship and Meyer's was used in the introduction postcard clip to introduce the Bosnian song in this year's Eurovision Song Contest. (It was all about citizens of the participating 43 countries who live and work in Germany) Just a few seconds really..

THANKS harborman. She should be visible on the below linked webcam about an hour after the start of the floatout. If memory serves me correctly it started about 1am EST (7am local in Papenburg).

The information is only posted in greman on the Meyer-Werft web site but it looks like it starts at 7:30. Also there is a 9:30 and 13:00 time listed but I don't know exactly what it says.
I think it's all over by 17:00.
