Frode,

I understand she was at Gibraltar for some time earlier this month and left September 10th, bound for Jamaica, according to her AIS signal.

Maybe Tony Davis has some additional information?

Best,

Raoul

She is very pretty inside, almost reminds me of the interiors of the SS DOLPHIN IV. However, wasn't this ship a former casino ship that used to sail out of Port Everglades?

I hope this cute little ship has some years of good service ahead of her yet.

The web site is in Russian, English and Spanish and the contact address is in Essex so I'm not sure what the nationality of the owners is, or even of the intended passengers.

No, that was the former CASTALIA, a larger ship built for the same owners (Hellenic Mediterranean Lines) as a ferry in 1974. This ship is the former AQUARIUS, a purpose-built cruise ship built in 1972.

The ship was sold during august, after her last cruise with Plein Cap, who was ended in Nice on August, 17.

Tropic Star II was with the short-lived Starlite Cruises, which I worked with. My friends actually worked on the Tropic Star while I worked on the MV Empress in the Mexican Riviera.

Hi Doug,

new owners are Russian but their office is based in UK as this makes operations easier.

It appears ADRIANA has recommenced service sailing between Istanbul and Sevastopol. A number of websites all have the same news report. $200 each way - US$? I can't seem to find an official site or booking info anywhere.

The vessel is owned by Black & Baltic Seas Cruise Company (www.bbscc.ru).
You can book cruises via their office Expotur in St. Petersburg.
Inmaris Perestroika Sailing in Germany is selling their cruises as well.
A round-trip IST-IST costs 490€ p.P. for the cheapest cabin.
