As for Thomson it is certainly not going anywhere. Its parent company, TUI Travel, is one of the biggest companies in the travel industry. It's about 50% larger than Carnival by revenue. Cruising is just a relatively small portion of its business. See here.

Lets face it, BBC can only actually film what is there in the first place, and no doubt there was more to see than what they did.
Thomsons deserve a good kick in the pants.

Watchdog claimed that it was NOT a refit, but addressing some technical issues; plumbing and air-con, I guess?

Dreadfull Dream or Nightmare?! We have just disembarked the even-older Celebration (1984 - Ne'er Damm) and were much dissapointed in Sept, having sailed on Thomson's third turnaround at Marmaris (Turkey) in May 2010; which was superb. Nothing as horrendous last week as 'Dream' but we endured a 'sweat-shop' and shower back-flow problems, with A/Con seeming to be an optional extra? Pics and temps to follow - but we cannot say a word against the 'hotel' staff and cabin stewards - BUT somone at TUI knows what corners are being cut, and engineering deficiencies, swept aside - for sure! More to follow, and we too have lodged acute concerns in words and evidenciary photos to our Agents - all part of TUI! A wet-docking in October is obviously much-warranted; treating Pax's with silence is not the expected standard we expect from Thomson's - is it?
