AKer builder - thanks for the wonderful photos and your posts over the past few years. You have really given us insight into the building process of these great ships. ALLURE looks wonderful, and I see some minor difference between her and OASIS (like those round lights in Central Park).

Anyway, the completion of ALLURE must be bitter-sweet for you. I too hope RCCL orders something relatively soon, or any other line for that matter to keep the shipyard active.

Best of luck to you!

Ernie

Thanks for the pixs. Very elegant looking. I wonder if it it different than Oasis?
Maybe Aker Builder can comment on this.

Interesting to see that the shop has been stocked with alcohol while the ship was in Finland.
Thanks for sharing the pictures.

AKer Builder, question for you.

Did you notice any significant changes with the Aqua Theater? This is one area on OASIS that encountered quite a few problems, and I believe there are still some challenges. I know it's a very technical space. Originally, the Aqua Theater pool was supposed to be available to passengers to swim during the day, but this never happened on OASIS. I wonder if it will on ALLURE based on any changes that were made to the design?

Thanks again!

Ernie

All i know is that Oasis pool have some rust problems, the equipment for lifting pools bottom is rusted some how and dosent work properly, so there is 3way problems between RCI Yard and supplier of this equipment!
I don't know is the problem fixed in allure, i hope so.

With NCL the only one??? planning on new ships, the yards have finally had the economics hit them.
I really don't see much on the horizon for new builds. With the world ecomomy down cruise lines seem to be having a hard time filling their ships.
I recently went on RCL site and saw that many cruises are still available (even for 10/31).
This could be a time that cruises will be a real bargain provided the lines don't start charging for every little thing.aka the airlines.

That jumped out at me to, after the storm the Oasis went through I would be a little to scared to stock that stuff before she arrived in Florida.

We had a very bad wind storm traverse the US this week. If Allure is in the process of doing the crossing it may well have the same rough seas that plagued Oasis.???? Or is she's just out for sea trials???

AKer Builder, I want to thank you for keeping us posted on both the Oasis and Allure. I do hope that RCI places an order soon for another new build. The Allure looks as good as her sister. Thanks for taking the time to share your photos and stories along the way.

I wish Gordon. Unfortunately I had to cancel the four night cruise I was booked on. I have a few things happening on the job front right now, so it's hard for me to plan anything.

One trip this is happening is NIEUW AMSTERDAM in just over a week.

Hope you're well!

Have fun on the Nieuw Amsterdam. That will be a nice cruise. Sorry to hear that you had to cancel but I know that you will cruise on her sooner than later.

By the way here is a video of the Allure. Some nice interior shots. Love the Viking Crown lounge.

Don't forget the new Princess ships that Fincantieri are building. Whilst newbuilds are slowing down I believe there will be significant ongoing business as the cruiselines continue to update their existing fleets with new features such as big-screens etc

The Carnival, Costa, Princess, Seabourn, Aida,Celebrity,MSC and Norwegian are the major cruise lines with something on order.

Thanks for sharing the photos AkerBuilder, very much appreciated. I hope your yard gets another order but I highly doubt it will be from Royal Caribbean. Before they order anything else they must pay off these two behemoths. Best Wishes

Actually Fain hinted that 2014 may be the date for their next order delivery. I expect them to place an order in 2011 for a 2014 date.
