She left Syros for Piraeus on the 11th April 2011 and arrived the next day about 09.15hrs.
They must have wound her up as at one stage she was up to 16 knots, for a short time, which is the fastest speed seen for her since arriving in the med.
Best,
Raoul
Edit: 1865. Not sure where I got 1845 from. That would be ridiculously old.

Or maybe Star decided to get her closer to the market where they think they can sell her. She was inspected over and over in Greece by Germans and others and no one wanted her. She is not the best product on the market and has a very high price tag.
Maybe they figure they will have better luck if they anchor her in Hong Kong, Singapore, etc. -- I doubt St (now Genting) would consider running her.

But seriously, if Star really wanted to sell badly enough, I imagine it would have already. The price she almost sold to Louis for made my jaw drop ... as it is Star is very lucky it sold MAJESTY for the very premium price it did.

I understand Star Cruises still demanded a price of more than USD 200 million during very recent negotiations with possible buyers. Reportedly, one party offered very short of USD 190 million and Star was not willing to accept that offer.

The ship has had a long line of companies inspecting her. They lined up to inspect and take her out for a test drive so to speak. Louis' claims of mechanical problems have without a doubt hurt the image of the ship. It seems the Genting does not have that much of desire to sell her though, especially if you are right that someone offered nearly $190 million of course or unless there were other problems or conditions that created a problem on the sale.
It is sort of odd to see her sitting idle for so long and makes one wonder what the second hand market is going to be for a lot of the other cruise ships of a similar age. Have to wonder if some of them will not have a short life and end up the scrap yard long before their earlier than the previous generation of cruise ships.

Well, the question now is whether she is sailing towards a brighter future, or sailing towards doom (scrapyards...again). But I would really hate it if it were the second option

no way she is heading to the scrappers yet. She may be a bit of a basket case, but she is still far too new to be scrapped. My expectation is that Star is just bringing her to Asia to make her easier to inspect for potential South East Asian buyers.
With all the other companies putting cruise ships on the Australian market I wonder if Star Cruises are considering putting her there as well.
Wonder what she might re-appear as ?
Could be a cattle carrier !
