It looks as if they attached a duck-tail. True? I think the new dark blue area looks good, but not all the writing on the hull. Never liked that on any ship.

Amazing how an awful paint job and ducktail can ruin a formerly good looking ship.

Thanks, dmwnc1, for the picture of the duck-tail. It surely did nothing for her external looks. I always liked the Century class, but not with these additions to her stern.

Great post !

Ok, the ducktail I can live with, the hull colours I actually prefer, but the graffiti just looks cheap and tacky.

A short video documenting some of the 'Before and After' changes from Celebrity Mercury to Mein Schiff 2. 'Before' it was a casino, 'After' it's now a Surf and Turf restaurant and Wine Tastings Bar. Similarly, 'Before and After' changes in the Grand Foyer, Spa, the Deck 5 port side Atrium lounge and Guest Relations Desk, Cova Cafe:

One of the most drastic changes was the transformation of the beautiful Navigators Observation Lounge and Bar to a gigantic gym with exercise machines. A real travesty if you ask me!

Indeed - what a shame. The sad thing is that they probably decided for that based on their experience with Mein Schiff 1.....

It looks hideous with all of that grafitti on the ship's sides.

Pity they made the drastic change, but according to the deck plans there is a bit left of the lounge. link

Looks like the Navigator Lounge was divided into three separate parts:

- A gymnasium (starboard side)
- A nightclub (center portion)
- And the X Lounge described as such...

"The X-Lounge on Deck 12 with its large panoramic windows offering guests (all the junior suites and suites) not only a great view, but also special services such as culinary delicacies, champagne, newspapers or the Internet for free."

TUI Cruises has loaded an extensive virtual tour of the interiors of the newly christened vessel. I must say it was very well done and she looks quite impressive!
