On a gorgeous morning, the latest member of O&O Cruises fleet arrives in Southampton.
Originally R8, then Royal Princess, Adonia will be named by Shirley Bassey tomorrow evening.
Fantastic morning for taking photos...

Brgds,
Andrew

I always find these R ships a big yawn...they never have done anything for me, nor do I have any desire to sail one...hopefully they updated her interiors (looked liked Princess did nothing to update these ships)

Interesting how the aft view of her funnel matches Oriana and Aurora's. Looks like an intentional part of the fleet.

As ever, Andrew, great pictures. I especially liked the one with both Adonia and Oriana. Can I use it for the blog?

I was interested to see that she came up the Needles channel yesterday morning and didn't pass to the south of the Isle of Wight. I remember a round trip on a Southampton to Cherbourg ferry that took the same root, but the larger ships don't use that channel at all.

When P&O said that she'd be able to visit smaller ports because of her size, I didn't think they had Yarmouth, IoW, in mind!

Hi Andrew,

Great pictures as usual.

I think she looks very smart in her new P & O colours.

I'm with you. I feel the same way but so many people love these ships there must be something redeeming about them?

On the exterior at least, I don't find them remotely attractive.

Great pics BTW!

Adonia arrival video filmed from ventura.

I just got off Ventura yesterday after her norwegian cruise, and was lucky enough to be able to take the above video from her top deck, Adonia appears around a minute or so into the video,

hope you like.

and loving the pictures posted above, absolutely stunning images. Was such a fantastic mooring for it, the light was something else..

Best fraser

We did Azamara Quest in the Far East last year and loved the ship - small, friendly, atmospheric interiors, spacious deck space, nice cabins and very comfortable - would love to sail on one of the R sisters again, but perhaps not one in P&O guise!!! I'm sure she will soon be loved by P&O regulars.

Andrew, love the photos as ever - enjoyed reading Artemis too!!!

Ken

Of course Tom, please feel free.

Great that she is of a size to use the Needles Channel, it's such a scenic way to transit the Solent.

Brgds,
Andrew
