Yes, Rotterdam's profile has changed, but it could look a lot worse, and is still more pleasing to look at than a lot of ships today!

Ernie R. reported to me that since the ship left Southampton, she has encountered force 9 or 10 winds. He also said that a real "transatlantic" feel has evolved aboard the ship between passengers and crew. The ROTTERDAM's current crossing sounds like real fun!

The Rotterdam used to be a beautiful ship. I sailed on her twice before the re-fit and butchering took place. The last in 2004 on a transatlantic from NY to Europe. NO way would I sail on her or any HAL ship at this point given that the bean counters have destroyed her along with too many cut backs. Check out the deck plans before the so called enhancements. IMHO.

Yes, the ship's outer lines have been "spoiled" perhaps by the enhancements, but the ship still works very well inside, and I enjoyed her as much as I did when she was new in 1997.
