I will leave you with a Quiz overnight While the Costa Concordia incident was taking place, I too was at sea, but with considerably more water under the keel thankfully. Which ship was it?

Yes, Queen Elizabeth - we took the crossing to New York on 10 Jan. That mosaic looks a bit 'drab' comparing to the one I did for Queen Mary 2 back in 2004

I thought I had done one for QE2 as well, but can't find it. For something brighter, here's Norwegian Dawn's back in 2002 though:-

and I did a whole gallery for Norwegian Jewel in 2005.

Very nice, Pam, in fact, it's fascinating! Here's a new swatch from QUEEN MARY 2's champagne bar--I crossed on her Jan. 3rd-10th, arriving in So'ton on the day you left:

Beautiful carpeting indeed. But the one Rich posted from the Champagne Bar....if I look at the too long, I get dizzy. And just for fun, no I've not had a thing to drink, it's 6:22 AM.

Deb, you're right, passing through the Champagne Bar could be vertigo-inducing, with the pinwheel effects of that new carpet. I never spent enough time there to get used to it.

Champagne sales must be down - not required to get a bit light-headed It is a bit dizzy.

Pam....thanks for sharing that interesting mosaic. Just wondering, Pam, who did QE ride the winter Atlantic?
Rich....I think you'll agree with many of us that not all the changes in QM2 are for the better. Smooth crossing?

The crossing was pretty smooth, even with two days of Force 9/10 gales--since we were eastbound, weather came from astern. The ship had a lot less motion than she does going westbound.

For the most part, I did not mind the changes, which were really in soft furnishings. The Commodore Club looked great, and we even got used to the new dark carpet in the cabins. I can see where that would be useful in hiding dirt and stains tracked in from the balconies. But the pinwheel carpet in Veuve Cliquot seemed a constant source of ridicule, at least among my friends!

Cunard certainly did a number to the once elegant Champagne bar. As I recall, I counted something like 6 different fabric and carpet patterns in that room now. Looks a bit like the QM w/the chintz pillows of different fabrics.
