I was literally BLASTED out of the water from all sides claiming I was starting a horrible rumor, how dare I assume anything, and if it WERE an oil leak wouldn't it be world wide news already?
Even in the time-lapse video it showed ferries driving through the 'event' several times during the day and the 'event' would swirl around elegantly just like newly added cream in a cup of tea then quickly reform into a solid moving stream heading away from the ship.
MANY lashed out at my ignorance in not recognizing it as:
- 'wind waves' (quote: "that's just the pattern of the wind on the water") - "wave action of the water from the waves hitting the bow of the ship and then heading on towards the shore."- "Those discolorations are from the wake of other ships and boats" (seriously???)
Also the fact that it 'just couldn't be oil' because we would see the sun reflecting off of it and a rainbow coloring effect as it shimmers in the water'. Whatever. Not at this distance from the webcam you wouldn't.
In the end I just gave up as we had to 'agree to disagree' but I still think it is something coming from the ship, some type of petroleum product that floats on the surface. Not 'spa oils' as some on the other site claimed coming from barrels of spa supplies.
