Isn't that rather close to when she is expected to give birth or do I confuse something here?

I think the baby's not due until July.

One interesting difference is that Diana was generally addressed and referred to as a princess at the time, whereas Kate is not (yet). It may come as a surprise to some people to discover that Kate is technically a princess.

Thanks - I am not up-to-date concerning that topic. It's not as close as I thought but in some countries she would not be allowed to work at the time of the naming ceremony.

Diana's title was HRH Princess of Wales (she was never Princess Diana). Catherine's title is HRH Duchess of Cambridge (a royal duchess normally outranks a princess) - without it she would just be known as Princess William of Wales (just like a Mrs really!!!)

I had expected Catherine to name the P&O newbuild rather than Royal Princess, but who knows she may do the double yet!!

Hi Neil .... have the feeling that P&O have missed the boat. They will probably get some soap star / actress / dancer to name a new 'Azuventuriana' instead of HRH Duchess of Cambridge naming what could have been a new 'Duquesa' !!!

Just tried to check out the amazingly informative Royal Princess Topic started by dmwnc1????

Absolutely appalled to find that he has felt the need to pull all his posts and leave this forum. Those responsible (and he knows who he is - he apparently knows everything ... in the UK we call them Know-it-alls!) should be ashamed.

Another good guy lost - at least David has transferred to CC where his efforts are appreciated. I for one won't bother visiting so often and certainly don't feel inclined to post again - you never know when you are going to be shot down in flames by a know-it-all.

Ken, I'm sorry to say that I think we are witnessing the demise of Cruise Talk.

Active members have been slowly dropping like flies. We only have four active posts today!

I was wondering why that thread went down the memory hole.

Too bad. Sad to see so many active, and more importantly informative, users go.

It doesn't have to be this way.

If people treat each other with respect and support we can still have an active and positive forum.

Thanks to all who still visit and contribute. We still get hundreds of people a day who stop by an read current and old threads. We just need more people to take a minute to share their thoughts.

Additionally, anyone with ideas on what we can do to help improve the forum and attract new users would be greatly appreciated.

Feel free to e-mail me at jkoshuta@travelserver.net if you would like to contact me directly.

We have lost several posters over the past months. Some by choice, and others by force.

It seems that egos and attitudes rule the day for some, because they always have to get that dig in, or have the last word, as if their word is sacrosanct.

People forget that we are to be kind to others and not take ourselves too seriously. Alas, in the end, we've lost good upstanding members because of a choice few and their attitudes and egos.

Kindness goes a lot farther than unkindness.

It's really sad to see posters leaving and hopefully things can turn around. I've often considered this to be the best resource on the cruise industry available on the internet. I used to be a heavy CC user before finding this forum and have until recently not been back to CC. This forum is a unique place where some of the most knowledgable members of the cruise community have come together to discuss the latest news. There is a huge variety of users on here; some hard core fans of a particular line (I'm a loyal royal), others who will sail on anything just to see it, and many classic liner fans who dislike anything new; yet there is an overwhelming level of respect for the knowledge and perspective that each member brings to the community. This variety has led to some of the most interesting threads with a wide variety of perspectives and understandings of the industry that cannot be found on other sites. I've seen some great debates on here and that's how it should be. We should see people arguing over what's good and bad, that's the only way to build an entire picture of what's going on. These arguments should never reflect back on the poster though. We should all feel free to give our honest opinion on topics as long as we can back them up. This is what makes this forum great. While other sites divide users based on their tastes, we are all one large community on here as we should be.

This site is also one of the few places that does not censor users for no reason. The main reason I consider CC to be one of the worst cruise communities on the web is the fact that they work harder to tear the cruise community down than on anything else. If you post a link to any website, even one hosted by a cruise line, it'll be censored. That does not happen here. There are not that many people in the cruise community, but those that are believe strongly in it and are very knowledgable. We need to act as a unified community and everyone should be working to better the community as a whole. I think for the most part that does get accomplished on here, and those few bad incidents while they should not be overlooked, they should not change this fact. We should be sharing our thoughts, speculations, and most importantly our cruising memories. We are a family on here and we should act as one. The only stupid posts are the ones that don't get submitted. We can all skip over posts, but that one user who mights love your post cannot benefit from it if it's not posted.
