I'm wondering if anyone has itinerary details of the old ISLAND PRINCESS' final voyage with Princess in early 1999.

As I recall, she was scheduled to spend the Northern Winter of 1998/99 in the Indian Ocean with her sister, but the planned itineraries were replaced at fairly short notice with a semi-world cruise. I'm not sure if a brochure was ever printed.

I know the ship arrived in Australia from Asia in February, called at Cairns, Sydney, Hobart, and Fremantle, and then headed to Mauritius. Her sale to Hyundai was reported in early March, and she left the fleet the following month.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Hi JonC,

I have Two Princess Exotic Adventures brochures for Fall 1999 - Spring 1999 and Fall 1999 - Spring 2000 except for 1998/ 1999 World cruise brochure.
In September 1998 Princess was originally scheduled to offer 65 Days World Cruise from San Francisco to Rome and then Three 14 days Holy Land cruises between Rome and Istanbul and 23 days repositioning cruise out of Istanbul on January 2 to Capetown for offering Safari Cruisetours between Capetown and Nairobi with Pacific Princess until March 1999.

Thank you, Ocean Liners.

I believe that instead of making the 2 January 1999 repositioning voyage to Cape Town, she departed Istanbul for Asia, Australia and the Indian Ocean. I'm just not sure where the voyage ended. Possibly in Cape Town??

Like her 'world cruises' in 1998, I think it was sold as a complete voyage and not in segments.

Thanks again.
