Hello everyone. It's certainly been a while. My absence couldn't be helped, as the last several years saw my life in complete shambles, coming to a head on March 28th with the passing of my wife, who had been battling endometrial cancer for nearly 7 years. Fortunately for her, the battle is over, but at what a cost.

Anyway, I was just on the Celebrity Summit early in July. Everything people have said about Celebrity in the past in terms of how good the experience is was correct, especially the food -- some of the best food I've ever had aboard ship. So I wound up booking passage on the Silhouette in February for the Eastern Caribbean. Has anyone been on this vessel, and what is the general consensus on it?

Nice to see everyone getting on like the dysfunctional family we've always been. TTYS

While not having cruised on the Sil. we have cruised on three(Solstice ,Equinox
, and Reflection) of the Solstice class ships. They are pretty much the same. The Glass blowing is gone replaced by a grill. Some lounges are also gone.
I did not care for the buffet venue as one must navigate all the food islands. A lot of traffic there and you need to take care in not bumping into someone. Otherwise Celebrity is great.

So sorry to hear about your loss. I can't even begin to imagine.

Though, I'm glad you're back to cruising and back to posting here! I've been following these boards for years! I've always appreciated the closeness and familiarity of all the users/usernames! It really is like a dysfunctional family

Just sailed on the Solstice to Alaska in June. The food was really good even in the main restaurants and buffet. Food in the a la carte restaurants was exceptional.

Solstice Class is my favorite mainstream class of ships.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

I was just on the Celebrity Summit. Originally scheduled for a Bermuda run, Hurricane Cristobal changed that and we were diverted to Cape Canaveral and Nassau.

I enjoyed the dinning, however; the food in Blu wasn't good at all. I was surprised by the long lines and confusion at the lido buffet.
