Video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTLhJYsQw7U30th October 2014 Yesterday evening at around 5 PM (29th October), Royal Caribbean’s newest cruise ship ‘Quantum of the Seas arrived at Southampton, UK. Even the worlds most technological cruise ship, could do nothing about the fog! After two short voyages for cruise professionals/the press, the ship will sail transatlantic on the 2nd November, to its new home port in New Jersey. If she had arrived an hour earlier or at least before sunset it would have been a bit better but she was late. The rain did however stop just before she emerged from the mist.My Video and plenty of poor Misty Murky photos with Night Views as she berths. Even before she entered the Solent it seems to have been misty as not seen any decent photos of her. Just murky or photoshopped made to look pretty ones The crane does not stick out like the sore thumb I imagined and is a lot smaller than renditions. It looks OK imho and was working all the way up the Water, last night and today. People must be enjoying it. I have some photos from this morning too with CELEBRITY ECLIPSE berthed astern, but not online yet

She's now left, only an hour late departing. I didn't wait around again [after the 2+ hours spent hanging around on Friday when she left on her TA junket].

With ADVENTURE OF THE SEAS
She arrived in fog and during her stay it's been cloudy, murky, raining and brilliant sunshine - true British weather. I've got photos in all weathers, if you're not bored, see here. The skydiving was fun to watch from Mayflower Park [no doubt the reason she was berthed starboard to quay] and the views posted online from the North Star Pod while underway look excellent. Bon Voyage from the UK. She is however very much a block on a barge from astern, and did tend to emit a fair amount of black smoke from time to time.
