I am the only one on CT who likes this room. The colors are not quite right. The Avocado green ceiling is not right for seasickness and the linoleum brown is uncreative.

The room has been recolored with pastels. The ose colored ceiling reflects nicer skin tones and the blue floor mimics the sea. To warm it up Walnut veneer accents are on the bulkhead columns.

Hi David,

It sure brightens up the room, the red ceiling works better then green. The walnut veneer is interesting, I at first hadn’t noticed it (that is a good thing) Maybe it is the “free” arrangement of furniture that initially makes the room look less appealing?

Loved what you did!......... maybe you could place a tender to redo her interiors if she is ever restored ,as you have a good touch there on what works well

I really like the redo. But would the blue deck require more maintenance daily in order to preserve appearance?

...Kenneth...the Aquamarine is a curiousity. Let's hope she sails again.

A good quality linoleum floor can last 50+ years if taken care of. I would have a nautical pattern on the linoleum floor such as anchors, seahorses, rope etc. I think it would make it really fun.

Briiliant David. I think perhaps a nautical type of carpet, perhaps an "underwater" type of design to go with it. Maybe some sconces on the bulkheads?

Reminds me of the"while you were out" show.

I always wondered what it would look like.

Sconces? the lighting is in the false ceiling beams.
50's interiors tended not to have sconces.

The blue deck is fine as is. Designs would, IMHO conflict with the rest of the room and make the whole scene too "busy".

When I spoke of maintenance in my last post I was thinking more of the constant traffic and subsequent scuff marks. Might make for a lot of buffing. "Riding" a buffer can be fun as I found out in the navy.

Yes-sconces!! Delicate brass ones draped with tiny crystals and pleated shades over the lamps. A large crystal chandelier would 'class up' the room as well!! Get on that David!

Jochen here is a rendition of “Aquaramia”. I kept Cunard tradition of no dummy funnels so Aqua’s red head had to go, sorry!
