Hey everyone

I am very new to the whole cruise ship venture.. I've been on ferries such as the Spirit of Tasmania 1 & 2 which are passenger and vehicle ferries that operate on the Bass Strait, between Tasmania and Victoria (in Australia).

I work as a DJ and music store attendant, and I am interested in doing the same sort of work on board a cruise ship for a while. Can anyone recommend any cruise companies I should contact in relation to these jobs, and should I go about it?

Any responses are muchly appreciated

To tell the truth it doesnt compleatly matter which cruise line you contact about your music thing. Just call them and ask which ships are avaliable for singing. Hear is a list of cruise lines you can call up:

ROYAL CARIBBEAN
PRINCESS
HOLLAND AMERICA
NCL, NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE
CUNARD
CELEBRITY

Why don't you send your CV to all of the key players: Carnival (who include Cunard, Princess, Holland America, Costa, P&O MSC etc.), Royal Caribbean/Celebrity and NCL (Norwegian Cruise Line).

Oh, 'Cruise Lover' beat me to it.

Hi Benno, my name is Kevin and I've been serving as a DJ aboard cruise ships since 1999 and it's a great time and a fun job. There are only a couple of things to think about when deciding which cruise lines to apply for and they really depend on what sort of DJ you are... ie: club dj, moble dj, radio dj etc., they also depend on what kind of atmosphere you're comfortable working in. Let me know what kind of DJ work you do and whether you're interested in more formal/upscale cruising or more relaxed party cruising... oh and also if there are any questions about what you'll need or what it's like I'm more than happy to answer them.

Cheers,
DJKjavascript:%20x()

BTW: All the big cruise lines pay starting DJ's around the same salary and all have similar side duties so this shouldn't impact your decision.
