So are you all credit-crunched or do you have a cruise/s planned for 2009?

No cruises yet but we just booked a week at the Four Seasons-Punta Mita in Nayarit, Mexico for mid-March. That is one of our new late winter hangouts w/friends. I'm trying to convince my partner to do a British Isles cruise for the summer.

We have a deposit on Prinsendam's November 1-24/09 sailing, Athens to Ft Lauderdale. Having decided how we are getting home from Athens, we now need to figure out how we're going to get to Athens...ideas?

Funnily enough, the credit crunch may well have an impact on my plans. We see an opportunity to do a back-to-back-to-back in November/December 2009, on three different ships (two different cruise lines), for three entirely separate events/reasons.

But we won't have the time to do this unless the credit crunch leads to the end of my companion's job. If it does, we will probably grab the chance with both hands!

Tim I would suggest you plan on going a few days early, mainly due to weather conditions. Of course it's a long haul to Athens. I guess about a 20 hour flight. You will need a few days to adjust to the time differences before your cruise. At least coming home from Ft. Laud. won't be too bad.
Check and see if HAL has a precruise air/hotel package.

I'm heading to sea on January 19, a 10 float about the Carribean aboard Emerald Princess. A January sailing in the sun is an annual event, getting away from winter!
I'm also booked on Star Princess for a 32 sailing across the Pacific from Vancouver to Sydney on Sep. 21. However, the Canadian dollar has dropped, and this has increased the price by 34% for me-and second thoughts are present!

Celebrity Solstice, 28 September - 11 night E Mediterranean from Civitavecchia. We booked it last April or May, as soon as the schedules were announced, almost 18 months before the cruise.

Thanks, Frosty4 - we will take HAL's air and pre-cruise option in Greece. We've been thinking about adding time to go somewhere else in Europe we've not yet visited. maybe Venice.

Well the cruisetalkers are certainly keeping the industry afloat. Unfortunately I do not have any cruises booked.

Anymore?

Most likely REGAL EMPRESS on January 7th, and that is the only cruise I'm considering thus far in 2009.

My partner and I are going to Hawaii in February and staying at The Kahala for three nights and the Halekulani for three nights. Looking forward to that even though it's not a cruise.

With all the cruise deals out there, I'm sure I'll be booking something soon.

Ernie

Getting credit-crunchy here, too. We had plans back in the fall to sail QM2 in January, but ditched those plans in favor of waiting to pounce on a bargain on RCI sailing out of Norfolk, VA (we live in Richmond) late this spring on a Vision-class ship. Even those plans are tentative.

Carrying a high card balance = not good when house hunting. Certainly not these days, anyway.
